The Uwharrie Running Club was formed in december of 2004. our group is based out of albemarle, NC and we welcome runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. Located near the uwharrie mountain region, albemarle and the surrounding areas of stanly county provide a runner's paradise with rolling hills and plenty of scenic views. the URC members gather frequently for group runs and a runner's club meeting is held every couple of months. the urc also directs the beach blast 5k, an annual race held during the city of albemarle's may beach blast event.
